When people talk about Bordeaux, they typically refer to the region’s Left Bank and Right Bank. Nestled between the Left and Right Banks is a broad swath of bucolic rolling hills and medieval villages known as Entre-Deux-Mers (“between two seas,” referring to the rivers). Sauvignon Blanc is the most widely used grape, while Sémillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle are also recognized as principal varieties. The region is one of Bordeaux’s best value plays.
