Lamberto Frescobaldi leads his family’s historic wine business toward the future in Tuscany

Since joining the family business in 1989 and taking over as president in 2013, Lamberto Frescobaldi represents the 30th generation to head Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, whose holdings include the prestigious Ornellaia and Masseto estates, as well as historic and contemporary wineries around Tuscany and an estate in Friuli. His innate enthusiasm and respect have helped him expand the company's holdings, make unique business deals (including a wine made on the prison island of Gorgona to give inmates income and work experience) and earn international recognition for the quality of its wines. His viticultural knowledge, years of study and work in California, a relationship with the Mondavi family, and an understanding and appreciation of other wines and regions have contributed to a vision and philosophy that has laid the groundwork for continued success in the future.
