Châteauneuf’s Isabel Ferrando
Leaving a career in finance to follow a calling to make wine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Isabel Ferrando had no family wine background nor any experience in the industry, but she sought training and mentorships and relied on her instincts to reimagine the neglected estate of Domaine St.-Préfert, which would go on to become Famille Isabel Ferrando and an inspiring force in the region. Today, she is joined by her daughter in the pursuit of elegant wines from the unique blue clay soils of her estate vineyards. Learn how this family became one of the great names of Rhône Valley winemaking in this issue’s cover story.
