Giovanni, Gianlorenzo and Marianna Neri, the third generation of Casanova di Neri, is reflected in the Brunello di Montalcino Giovanni Neri, dedicated to their grandfather, the winery’s founder. The inaugural vintage was the 2018, after purchasing the vineyard of 50-year-old vines at the end of 2017. It’s a project that is theirs alone, without the participation of their father, Giacomo.
“It was a big change for us,” explains Giovanni, who looks after the vineyards and winemaking with his father. “Because we had three different Brunellos for 30 years. And now from the ’18 vintage we started a new one, so we are trying to increase the differences between our four Brunellos.”
