“Since we were little children, we knew our future would be in the winery—it was our dream,” says Erminia D’Angelo, 40, of the path she and her brother Rocco, 38, took toward running one of Basilicata’s most successful wineries. “We just started a little bit earlier [than planned.]” The siblings abruptly began working at the winery in 2007 following the untimely death of their father, Lucio. “We were very young—I was 21 and Rocco was just 20,” says Erminia. “And when you’re so young, all the world feels a bit older.”
