Sweet Home Oregon
Véronique Drouhin has emerged as one of the premier winemakers of her generation, overseeing the cellars at her family’s historic Burgundy estate as well as those of its pioneering estates in Oregon. The signature varieties of both regions, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, are in her DNA. From their arrival on the West Coast in the 1980s, the Drouhins have been an inspiring force in Willamette Valley, bringing Burgundian techniques to the area and helping to raise quality across the board. Now, in this issue’s cover story, Véronique reflects on a life of wine shared between two homes.
